Description
This one started mostly as an experiment as i wanted to test the endurance of canson mi teintes (which is only 160gms/m2) under a layer of a polymer film. What you see here is the first stage of it, so far i have used just my color pencils.What will follow though is a different story...a layer of polymer film, waiting for this to dry, a layer of pan pastels to fog the existing shapes, and then i am gonna work my crispy details with color pencils again. (at least this is what i have in mind doing, i cant know for sure because on the process the strangest ideas pop out in my head apparently
)I guess i am just curious to see how this will develop...

theres only one trick, or at least i should say better "theres only one trick that i use often" and that would be an obvious one and it makes sense to me every time. I am just "following" the paper's natural texture.
I do this either with graphite or any kind of pencils (watercolor pencils or simple color pencils) and it works every time. Look at your paper carefully and SEE the hidden texture. Then just follow it with your pencils. This will create all kind of natural skin's texture.

Art is about what you are able to see mostly rather than what you are able to create yourself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me, I had never thought of following the paper's natural texture. I am certainly going to have a closer look at the paper in the drawing I'm working on at the minute, as I'd love to be able to recreate pores and such.
