People have been querying about tutorials, and so while I was working through this I video recorded myself Colouring that Flareon (->clickhere!<-) in the hopes that I could turn it into a decent tutorial... It's not quite a tutorial but it may help (somehow?). Sometimes works best when sound is off.
So page two features another another hastily drawn, super budget Explosion, 0% backgrounds, and some one-hit-KO's... yay.
Hopefully it's easier to follow then previous ones though; at the last minute I wiped all the bloody layers, so if a panel looks a little bare... you can blame the people who complained about the gore.

A couple of comments about it so: I know that in the GAMES toxic doesn't affect Steel types... but we're not playing the games, this is sheepis world and he says when a little spider dumps 2 litres of nuclear waste into your eyes... it stings. Go; try it at home, I dare you.

haha yes~ unfortunately for Mawile, her eyes are not made out of steel.
I'm not sure where the American-ness comes in xD, but the lack of Anime is quite deliberate though.

aha a Flareon!! finally a fire type (and another eeveelution ^^)! I really wanna know what Kylie would do against that since basically her team are all bugs (well Puff maybe but he just bounce and keep sleeping when he battles lol) but Im sure it will be really interesting

haha I do like drawing the Pokemon soo much more then the people, I'm glad they're the parts which get the attention because I do like to distract from the poorly drawn faces as much as possible!
oo getting bitten by a Mawile isn't something I want to go through, I feel a little bad for my Venomoth having to endure such foul treatment!
As for you questions: Spinarak is just jumping around, making a nuisance of itself, it dodges the punch which sends Mawile tumbling over itself... And no, it's not quite water, it's just snow; though I guess with the strong blue ambiance it does begin to look more like liquid. 
Flareon... well, hopefully I'll have the next page up soon so you can see just what happens to him... it doesn't really end well for anyone!

This page flowed better for me than the last one, although I guess it helps that I read all the other pages, too.
I really enjoyed that video, I always like seeing another artist's process. I really wish that Photoshop CS2 allowed you to spin the canvas... it makes getting those oddly positioned places so much easier.

haha I think this one flows better because I consciously strayed clear of clumping panels; and instead I just broke it down to the simple play-by-play action. In many ways I think the battles are easier to narrate then the miscellaneous activity anyway, the intention is a lot more straightforward so people are a lot more keyed the story you're attempting to tell
I'm glad you liked the video, I'd really love to see something like that from you one day as well! It'd be amazing to see just how you put your stuff together.

I totally love this page so hard, your layouts really are improving a lot~ I think it's also great how you rotate your canvas so much -- I just make do with the canvas flat and just go about as usual.
Also you totally lied to me when you said you're no good with the Eevee forms!! That Flareon looks amaaaazing~

I knew after the last few pages that I had to step it up, so I'm glad people seem to think I pulled the layout off this time; hopefully I can keep the next few pages nice and easy-to-read as well since I fear they're going to be pretty hastily thrown together >.eee and you watched my video? I feel all honoured now! But yeah, since making the switch to Painter I just can't work on flat canvas's anymore, it just feels so awkward not being able to more stuff around freely.

This is really great! The action and colors all look so good! That scene where the venomoth gets thrown into the ground is intense! I didn't know mawhile was "shaggy" but I guess I learn something everyday 
This is also a lot easier to read than the last page, your layouts are getting better! I can't wait to see more more more!

Malli is a really horrible trainer, she goes on but expeditions and makes her Mawile sleep in a box on the streets so it's hair has gotten all long and filthy, like a homeless guy! ...I hope she doesn't read this though, because she'll think I'm just even more of an asshole for making that up about her little character

OMG killer Flareon!!!
And Mawile is awesome. However - little continuity error. Toxic is a Poison-type move. Mawile is a Steel-type Pokemon. Poison attacks don't affect Steel-types. This is just me being a nitpicky psycho, so feel free to ignore me. Just thought I'd point it out.
Also - what the HELL kind of Hidden Power was that!? XD

I know that it shouldn't officially hurt Mawile due to the typing... but I really think that stuff isn't going to help you much if something decides to vomit a faceful of toxic waste into your eyes X3...

I realised just before the round begun that if I used Spinarak, his move sets really offered no real creativity; so I changed him up and gave him HP[ghost], I figure with something like that the effects can really just be whatever the hell I want them to be xDDD
