My new character, and the main one in a story I am working on. His name is Zane and he's a domestic dog, a mix between a Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, and Rottweiler, in other words, he's a mutt. He has one flopped ear, which he gets from his Rottweiler side. He also has one blue eye and one brown eye. The pink mark above his collar is a nasty scar that starts at the top of his neck and slowly gets wider across his shoulders, and since he got the scar as a pup, before he got his collar, it reaches under it. In dog years he's about twenty-two, so in human years I guess that would make him about two or three years old (if I'm wrong, please correct me). Personality wise, Zane is the strong, silent type, but not afraid to speak up when he's upset. He is also very clever, and takes in information easily. He's sort of clumsy and out of place at times, but knows better than to react to teasing. He was born a stray, and raised in a junkyard by his mother and mysterious father, who is the original owner of that collar. One day, when Zane is still very small, his mother is killed while in town searching for food, and soon after, a group of wolves makes their way into town. One attempts to kill Zane, leaving that scar on Zane's back, but is thwarted by the leader of the group, who tells him to spare Zane. Just then, Zane's father leaps out of nowhere, he had been away, but came running when he heard all the noise. The leader and Zane's father get into a fight, and Zane's father is killed, but not before using the last of his strength to snap the neck of his opponent. Zane, sad and confused, and still just a tiny pup, runs into town, but the humans and competing dogs make it hard to survive, so he makes his way into a nearby forest with his father’s collar, the last thing he has to remember his past. There, an unusual fox named Blaze takes him in and raises him, telling him the stories of the packs far off into the mountains and trees. One day, when Zane is full grown Blaze is killed. Heartbroken at the loss of his surrogate father, Zane flees into the Canadian wilderness, where he must tap his instincts to survive. Deep in the mountains and forests, he finds two wolf packs at war. One is striving to maintain the ancient ways of respect for nature and balance of power, and the other is set on becoming the most powerful species there's ever been, by creating ties with evil forces. Though they all look down on Zane as a human pet, he may be the only one who can help them, if they will accept him. There is more to their disgust than he knows, though, and it has to do with the quartz crystal on his collar, and the mysterious night of his father's death...

So there you are, Vamp's got a story, and hopefully it will help me get some feedback on my art and give me the opportunity to do something other than fan art. Also, even though this story centers on the war between two wolf packs, some of the main characters are not wolves at all. There’s Blaze, the red fox who raises Zane, and a raven character named Corvus fav.me/d2s1brs , who is Zane’s best friend. Anyway, keep an eye out, I hope to submit more profiles as soon as I finish structuring the story. By the way, the black lines are there on purpose, because I think it helps define the character, especially if they have white fur. Sorry about the watermark, but this took a very long time to draw and I'm in no mood to have it stolen.
