So, this is the first installment of my efforts to complete the 100 themes challenge. The first topic was "Introduction", and this is the introduction. I'm doing it with my friend ~flakycake , who i know in real life! woo!The girl is falling. The male angel is watching.
personally, i like this style. the way i colored everything solid black on them, except for their skin. i personally like that.
and i really like the clouds, too!
there's a whole story behind this, involving computer worms and the Geek Squad, but i eventually (and finally) squeezed it out.

This one has great composition, but the proportions are kind of awkward. Can't really put my finer on what it is. Most probably the head?
Girl's head seems a tad bit too big and the boy's face has features of an adult... but I'm assuming they're kids from the size of their bodies. It quite difficult to get the ages of body parts to match at times. So there's my two cents for you

This reminds me of something I said to mysister as we sat watching the sunset after a storm. "If the world suddenly flipped, I wouldn't mind falling through the clouds." ^^

It's a cool composition too, and the idea of colouring everything one colour (well, ok, black isn't technically a colour, but stuff that) and only shading the skin is interesting, perhaps I'll try that one day? XD
I think you need to work a little more on the anatomy of the people; also, gravity doesn't seem to be affecting the clothes/hair/feathers that much, so they look a bit like they've just been stuck on against a sky background, instead of actually falling.

actually, they weren't originally going to be falling like this. for example, she would be falling, but he would be doing something else. i actually ahd to rotate him and all this stuff.

This picture is great. Only thing I dislike is the Fully black clothing, it doesn't show significant shade/shine. My favorite part of the picture is the background. The clouds look amazing. Mind telling me how you made them like that?

haha, well.. i don't really know how i did it! i use photoshop, and i just used the brush tool to paint white and grey in the sky. hahaha i don't know how it turned out so well, but it did. xD

So mostly because is not my style of art to check out ill refer only to the composition which i like that they are head down and the fact that the detail is only in the face sets a mood and a cool style and the colors overall look pretty cool

Critique:
First and foremost, I really dig the background and the over all style of the piece.
Now, when it comes to pose, the girl looks fine but the boy looks a bit stiff. When doing a free falling position the shape need to be just that, free.
Just try to loosen up the form when sketching it, that might help.
Another thing is that there is alot of pure black here. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that when you have everything the same color it makes it a bit hard to distinguish shapes.
My suggestion to fix this would either be to use a color slightly lighter then pure black, a dark gray, which would also help because then you can do shading for it in black which can help define the depth of the object.
Or you can make the line art of the object lighter, which can actually look pretty cool sometimes.
Just experiment and see what works.

yeah, i definitely know what you mean about the guy. originally, he was going to be right side up and the girl was going to be upside down, but he looked too stiff. i meant for him to look a little stiff - he's supposed to be "in control" of his movements more than the girl, but it's too box-ish and "straight edge", if that makes any sense.
so i definitely know what you mean.
and your comment about the black actually made me think of something that i wish i had done. Oh well - i'll keep it in mind for future projects!

You should save your artwork in layers first and then save a separate flattened version. This way, you can always go back a fix it.

i actually usually do, but there were a lot of difficulties with this one. i wasn't kidding in the artist comments - it involves computer worms, geek squad, and a multitude of other things. i ended up having to get a new computer, and somewhere in the mix, it became one layered and a jpg instead of the usual photoshop file.
