Do you know that I find it strange? That Peridot now has a new form, since before she said that the Peridots of her class lack the ability to change shape as other gems.
Mainly this is confirmed the first time we saw Peridot regerate in "Catch and release" since she had no change in their appearance but to get rid of their robotic limbs, being the first time we saw a gem regenerating its previous physical form without any change, since other gems to regenerate seem that they can not use their old form twice again and always have to change something.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I think they just threw that concept off about the peridot's form because they know how the fandom will react if they didn't give our peridot a new form since all of the crystal gems manage to change into a new form. To be honest I'm gonna be sad if they didn't give her a new form but since you brought it up I kinda understand it.
