Another self-portrait, sorry
Last Thursday, I went upstairs to see how the students were doing regarding their preparations for the Science Fair. Joshua, my Taiwanese 7th grader, came up to me and said, "Teacher, you dress like a bad student."
It made me lol. Haha.
PS - While I usually have a fag in my mouth in my self-portraits, let me just make it clear that I never ever smoke in front of my students <3
PPS - The Chinese sign on the school wall reads "American International School"

Although sometimes I dress a bit girlier, which, according to a Korean kindergartener girl of mine, makes me look like "a black witch, but a good black witch."

Haha surprisingly, yes, the parents do like me! I was especially worried about the Korean parents since they're so traditional and all, but the reception was actually good. Some even gave me their email.
I'm mainly the art teacher for all grades (from kindergarten to high school), but I'm also helping out at the English Center (I teach the 6th grade English Language Learning Class), and I hang out at the middle school History Classes, just to help the kids with their projects and stuff. When I have free time I go around and hang out at random classrooms that are doing activities to see if I could help with anything.
Next year though our school is doubling the numbers of its students so I think I'm going to be teaching just art. I'd still go around hanging out if I could, though.

Art was always a fun class, I loved clay and making sculptures and stuff like that. "Yapi, the nomadic sudo-student going from class room to class room helping wayward kids make volcanoes out of paper mache and popsicle sticks."
Aw well here is hoping you aren't to busy and still get the opportunity to hang around in other classrooms. Aw I wish I had a punk metal teacher when I went through grade school.

I guess you are just so lucky you found a place that looks beyond the outfit. I know there aren't to many people here who would hire someone with dyed hair and tattoos into a teaching position. Lets hope the other teachers are ready for those American kids coming next yet!
