At times like that, you just say "No," and pull a gun on the guy. Unfortunately the game's programming doesn't allow this, so you just do the next best thing: turn off the game. Either way, Meta Knight loses.

I balive that Meta-knight only helps kirby when its to his benafit.

He probubly knew it wouldent make much difference at that point, the ship was going down anyways.(makes me think it would be cool to add fire, smoke and sparks to the picture.)

If you don't grab it, he'll fight you without it after waiting some time.

This is a way to fight him with any power.
1) Get a helper.
2) Grab sword.
3) Drop sword.
4) Transform helper back into power object.
5) Utilize that power object.
Of course, there's a chance Meta Knight will destroy the object before you get a chance to use it, but...
