Pretty much i just blend it like i do with colored pencils, i just keep going over and over until it looks right and the paper is all worn down! So pretty much you need really good paper for markering.

and purple/grey is a good color mix.

it was actually just grey markers but its "cool" markers as opposed to "warm" colored ones so it comes off as being purple i bet. it looks alot better in real life, especially since my friend framed it.
