That's what this card immediately made me think of and first I couldn't remember for the life of me where I had heard these wise words............turns out it was mentioned in "Kungfu Panda" Who'd have thought....

fun fact - gladiolus are the (AUGUST) birth-flower of the month!
It used to be the pansy or poppy but both fell out of fashion after the war.
