Description
Part 5 in a 6-part* series. Its Terry Gilliam! Now before you hum and haw and say he's the least important, remember he is the one responsible for all the animation work in the Pythons. Also remember he is probably the most successful one since. You know the film '12 Monkeys'? He directed that. Also 'The Brothers Grimm', 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', 'Jabberwocky' and even Quentin Tarantino credited Gilliam with a special thanks in the credits of 'Resevoir Dogs'.
Meanwhile John Cleese does ads for Sainsburys.
*Is that the light at the end of the tunnel or the headlamp of an oncoming train?

Cheers for the fave. [salute]

Yes...everything you said about Terry is true. He's an amazing artist and director. You've captured him really well.

He's my favorite Director. Have you ever noticed how in almost all of his movies have fog in them? It makes me chuckle.
I still can't get over the beauty of these portraits.

The only reason why I keep going on in college.
Yeah, when this li'l boy pirate captain grows up, he's gonna be a hotshot Hollywood director like Terry Gilliam.

Look at this, making me a liar. Here I am, commenting twice.
Anyone saying the man responsible not only for the iconic foot but also the glorious flying, piloted royalty (and so, so much more) deserves to be beaten to death with the full boxed collection.
(and this is a great picture, by the way.)

The foot! Of course, how could I have forgotten. *headsmack*
Thats a good image though, the whole getting beaten to death with the boxed collection idea. Second only to being beaten to death with your own shoe.
Again, thanks for the faves, you fav-whore.

It's so... there, I suppose, that it becomes taken for granted.
Yes >D. Of course, it'd still have its plastic wrap on, so the infidel's blood would not spoil the pristine contents. But shoes are good, yes (:
You are indeed welcome.

Funny, my favorite Pythons are probably also my favourites out of your drawings. This one is, of course instantly recognisable as Gilliam (doesn't he have a funny-shaped head?). Well ok, Cleese is pretty good too, but I don't like him since reading the Pythons autobiography...

The title kills me
I always love Gilliam, though jabberwocky almost made my head explode. The drawing is gorgeous It's lacking some darker tones, imo, that would snap it out of grey, but the likeness, mdelling and textures are divine.

You're right about the greyness, theres too much of it! But to be honest, I didn't have much dark to work with. Check out some of my other pics to see just how much I do like the blackness in a drawing.
Thanks for an insightful comment.

I see. You have some gorgeous works, totally not grey
I've also been in the "use whatever is handy" boat. Ah well, maybe when you get a new influx of soft lead or charcoal you'll touch it up

I mean that there wasn't much shadows in the ref pic to work offa, y'ken? I had a look at the original and it is a bit darker, if you can imagine that dark patch at his chest as pitch black, then the rest will follow.
I have got to get a scanner, these photos just don't cut it.

THough the scanner adds a different level of pain. It'll blur your image in one corner, f*ck with your colour levels and just generally look wrong..

How about six fish all named after the Pythons? They could discuss the meaning of life.
