Description
This step by step and carefully explained tutorial covers basic eye/face coloring, detailed hair and fur, etc. (mostly basics on how to do realistic drawings)! PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO DRAW THE HUMAN ANATOMY OR REALISTIC FORMS, but instead is a tutorial for how to cg or color realistically.
Since many people keep asking me if this works on photoshop versions such as 7.0, CS, CS2 or CS3, the answer is yes. If this works in ps elements then it should obviously work on higher versions.
Wow! I see my tutorial being linked on all kinds of sites other than da. Thanks guys for the over 5,000 favs and over 100,000 views
Tools: Wacom Graphire 2 4x5 tablet, photoshop elements 3.0.

If you do decide to use this tutorial for any of your drawings, crediting is highly appreciated. Also please do link me to it so that I can see! Have fun and enjoy.

i think gimp is similar with using the lasso tool, but if not I can ask someone who uses gimp.

I'm attempting to use your tutorial to help with my drawing (the hair part) and this might sound stupid to ask but I need some help with using the lasso tool.
I'm using gimp and not photoshop, but I think I can manage about the same thing.
This is an amazing drawing btw and great tutorial.
The advice would be greatly appreciated. (:

Well done, not like most tutorials which are thrown together, because the artist had nothing better to do. You clearly took some time doing this, and it shows well.

I WOULD DO ANYTHING (almost) FOR YOU TO CREATE A MORE, IN-DEPTH, VERSION OF THE HAIR TUTORIAL! BARELY UNDERSTOOD THAT PART AND IT HAD TO BE THE BEST ID EVER SEEN!!!!! i'm a crapy starting artist and was inspired by your "art through the ages" style picture...all i wanted to do was see if that sort of realism is my thing...but this tut was so vague i didnt know how to go on and began to cry...ik, sad right....cried over a tutorial... ; im such a loser lolz, can you possibly help me out? and sadly enough, i can't pay you to do one... it would be great if it had picture size in it, because i couldn't tell what the size strands were in comparison...sure it was 1px but that didn't help describe the whole image
and could u do a layer by layer-ish tut? and post ur beautiful technique in it?...i feel horrible because im scared you might think criticizing your art...AND I'M DEFINITELY NOT! im just an idiot who needs help...
