Just have to mention: You've almost done no shading in the sand, but the shading on the characters are well done. The proportions of their bodies are nice and natural (seen from a manga point of view^^). The contrast between the characters, one darkskinned with light hair and one lightskinned with dark hair also adds to the quality.
Summary: Well done on the characters, but the enviroment feels rather flat.

Btw! I noticed you applied the eye colouring technique, it looks very nice!!
If you drew the eye shines overlapping between the pupil and the eye ball shadow, it would give more illusion of roundness and realism, but it is still good.
