Description Fitted with an Advanced Recon and ECM pod, a Peluda operating out of the CSC-001 Copernicus performs a sensor sweep of the outer orbit region of Mars, since the newly arrived alien race of the Cypan have been showing an additional interest in the red planet. This is mere weeks prior to the first and last armed conflict between Earth's forces and the Cypan, which would leave the Sol system's defenses in utter ruins and set off the human diaspora across the galaxy.

A bit more background on the design itself:
Although an aging design, the basic space frame of the Peluda ( a French dragon that could shoot poisonous stingers) continued to prove itself an efficient and effective concept. Since space onboard capital ships is extremely costly, despite the fact that all storage and staging areas are depressurized, a single multirole ship was chosen for the utility roles and heavy ordnance delivery. Pods can be freely interchanged, but also combined to form longer craft, albeit at the cost of acceleration and maneuverability. Especially during the battle for Earth it was common practice to combine ECM and heavy ordnance pods. The Combat Search And rescue [C-SAR] configuration is the largest that can be accommodated in the Copernicus’ launch bays, otherwise external docking is required.

The European EuroGAZE consortium winning prototype of the Peluda was quickly put to mass production at the break out of the Mars colony rebellion, but it never participated in combat before the protoform Nullgate arrived. With the arrival of the Cypan fleet ship, the Peluda’s were put to the test. Even though they lived up to their designed specifications marvelously, the Combined Space Force was hopelessly outmatched by the superior Cypans and suffered heavy losses.

So, after literally years of inactivity on DA and Sketchup, I came across the online version of Sketchup a few weeks back. To my surprise it's a pretty full version of Sketchup. Although there are no plugins available, one should still be able to make quite complex models. And that on any computer with an internet connection! So I decided to give it a try and make a 3D version of an relatively simple design. One I made together with the Copernicus in - oh - 2008 already? 15 years back? My, how time flies... Anyways, it's a 3D model of the AutoCAD Peluda
