I really like how you captured not only a photograph but a moment in time... Very expressive... That is one where you can look back and remember exactly how it felt (or so it seems.) So I assume you are some kind of teacher?

haha no, not a teacher...graduating senior at a university for 2005 spring, and i was incharge of recruiting and putting together the selections procedure for the year...i was the chairman for recruitment & selections, pr, and an annual philanthropy for the organization...
my background other than my journalism/editing is in pr and recruitment, so i do a lot of that for a couple of departments with the university and for the university's honors college when we have merit scholars, flinn scholars, or any type of national scholar finalists who come to the university...
and thank you, i really do prefer people pictures for the most part...candid shots (although not so much with this one) that can capture a moment and have something to look back on...photojournalism kicks in there
but, i also enjoy and love artistic photography, it's a bit harder and has a lot more talent behind it, that's why i enjoy this site a lot. There are so many talented photographers and artists in here, present DA company included

haha thanks, thats nice of you to say...actually i just took this shot while i was talking to one of their parents....thats why i am from a side angle
they're my kids so im all proud and biased :-D

this is right after my class was "retired" and these kids (i was the recruiter and selections chairman) were inducted...so theyre doing their first picture as the official class for school year 2005 - 2006 (this was the goofy shot, as i recall--i was over to the side chatting with some of the parents)

no, it's for Mortar Board National Senior Honorary...i've been a program director several times, but not for this one...i was just the recruitment and selections chair for the graduating class of Mortar Board. MB is a national nonprofit org that does a lot of philanthropies all over the country and offer scholarships as well as promote leadership...alums include Josephina Magnu and Sandra Day O'Connor

they are selected from by a panel of 16 out of an applicant pool that's typically very competetive and impressive...
these guys are already professional reporters, an editor in chief, a television news editor, a filmographer, presidents of their own organizations, a PR rep for the LA Sparks of the WNBA, a director of an AIDS awareness program from Tanzania, a marine all-sports athlete thats travelled all over the world, a pioneer for organ donors on the college campus...that's just to name a few of them...
ahh i love my kids...
