Description
I honestly have no idea what to feel or say about this pairing. Kind of like the episode title. Also cue the beginning of Big Mac's Spurned Mares Club. It's been two weeks, I expect 50, 000 fanfics about it.

I love your art style. Looks so much like the people behind We Bare Bears and Craig of the Creek.

Why are their mouths on the sides of their faces?

It's just the way I draw. I was probably influenced by all the stuff I watched growing up and nowadays.

Does it serve a purpose? Because otherwise, it's sloppy, and a common mistake many artists make.

Yeah, the reason I do it is to really push the expression on the character's face and make it really prominent. I find it the most satisfying way personally when I make the grin really wide instead of just a usual tiny grin that the show usually has.
Certain expressions are definitely harder to deliver well when sticking to the show's standard design philosophy which is why certain angles on ponies are used more often in the show and a lot of Pinkie expressions are used sparingly or only once. Essentially, I also do it so I'm not just restricted to copying the show and making my own depictions of how a character would show emotion.

There are better ways to do that then to position a character's mouth unnaturally.

True, there's always a better way to do everything. Do you have any examples of what I could do then? Suggestions on improvement are always welcome.

Big mac's mouth should be a bit closer to the center of his muzzle and he should be facing a bit more towards the camera, not that much though, he should still be looking st sugar belle.
