Well, Set is another Egyptian deity, so that's probably why he would remind you of Anubis For some reason he seems to be a lot less known than Anubis.

Ahhh....SET! Yes I remember him.I had forgotten about him till now,thank you very much for refreshing my memory!
I think Anubis has risen in popularity because of him being the guide to the after life.People are more fascinated with death and the after life now more than ever I think!
