"Headcanon" and "canon" aren't the same thing.
A "Headcanon" is a fan's personal take on the canon, aka how they see the way the thing takes place. For example, Zarla's Headcanon is this comic series, where Sans and Papyrus are made from W.D. Gaster, which is why he has holes in his hands.
Now, "Canon" is what the creator of the film, game, series, etc makes. The canon of Undertale is that we play as Frisk, the eighth human to fall into the Underground, and we choose to kill or spare monsters, with both actions leading to different endings.
This comic isn't canon to the story of Undertale, to put it crudely, it's fan-fiction. None of these events even take place in UT, and none of it will until Toby Fox confirms it, which he most likely never will.

When I meant AU, I meant it very broadly - Theories, Alternate Timelines, headcanons so Handplates in this case can be referred to as an AU and it is. That's beside the point, anyway.
