Description
Sort of a thin velvety bonefuzz like on their plush versions, haha. Papyrus does really want people to pet him after all.(I don't actually think they're fuzzy, I was just speculating)

This actually makes a lot of sense. In fact, most monsters would be a little fuzzy. Since they are made of dust, They tend to lack much physicality. As such, they would probably have a soft exterior. This could just take the form of being maleable or fragile, but this seems like a bad idea. More likely, they would have evolved to center that into a form of barrier around their fragile bodies. Fur would be a very good method of doing this, as it can extend farther from the body, protect from things like cold, and catch things that would normally pierce their fragile "skin" and cause infections.
This however, does seem like a bit of a stretch. Feel free to do with this info as you wish.

this does seem like a possibility, even though, as you said, its a stretch.

It does at the very least get you thinking about how fragile monsters really are. Even without this fur theory, if it's just dust formed together into seemingly solid bodies, it still has drastic implications. I can imagine that monster with low hp, like sans, can look blurry and cloudy up close. His dust is lose, so it would sort of float about him in a sort of cloudy manner. He could wear his outfit to cover up the majority of it. Honestly, I'm surprised him drinking so much ketchup hasn't tried to fill the gaps in between the dust, tinting his bones red.
Actually, as I say that, that is one hell of a fan theory/au.

I don't think it's silly. It's natural for people to bond with those we can feel empathy for, and honestly sometimes it's very easy to become apathetic towards the world around us because we're so accustomed to what is wrong with it, and those a part of it. It's especially a lot easier to feel empathy for individuals who do not and cannot have any control over what's going on, and haven't really done anything to deserve their treatment. That's why most people cry when the dog dies in most action films, and also why we all want to protect our cinnamon bun Papyrus at all costs.

Eh, it's not very long. A solid 5 sentences ;u; Although I suppose if you don't really want to read that much, the last sentence sums my point up rather nicely.

Well, you were saying that it was silly that you felt more empathy towards characters than towards real people. I was explaining how it was understandable c: Comment sections are for writing, so I will gladly write a paragraph if I deem it fit, even if others believe my words are useless and unnecessary. I don't really expect people bother with what I have to say anyway, so thank you for at least reading a portion of it and discussing with me c:
