For a quick second that sentence made me imagine Gaster and Goopmonster in a "disappointed parents" situation. Something like:
Goopmonster: "Gaster! You can not continue living like that! You are working yourself to death! Stop those dreams of yours! You can not save the underground alone! So stop ruining your life and go study something helpful, like technology to help monster kind."
Gaster: "Yes I can! You will see. EVERYONE will see! I can do it!"
