Everything I've learned to do I had to learn by my own accord. Never even went to go to school for it (my options for that were super limited). It won't always be easy, but it's possible.

took me about a day.
The puppet was built sporadically over a few months. The animation itself took about 5 hours. Rendering and effects were done the day after, taking about 3 hours.
