Description If a fastidious observer of marine life sets up an underwater blind in the kelp forests of the aquatic realm of Surrealia and waits from late afternoon until sundown, the elusive and yet highly prized sea elephants emerge from their burrows, caves, and camoflaged resting places among the rocks and spend a good fifteen minutes to three quarters of an hour grazing, herding, and indulging in behaviors rather similar to the pachederms after which they were named. The observer is to be warned, however, that the slightest noise will cause the sea elephants to scatter, thus making them very hard to photograph.

My entry for this month's challenge.

Yes, I'm aware that kelp forests are usually thicker. But I like the lighting on htis one, and I like the blue background. Yes. Prints available

Capturing the Sea Elephant in its natural habitat might sound complicated.
But, really, it's just so darned cute! Thank you!

Lovely picture! Elephant is really cute and stands out nicely from darker background. I also like how you have managed to catch sea feeling without drawing any waves. Colors and plants are enough to create underwater atmosphere!

This is another great concept. I'd love to see more of his underwater world though because water really inspires me.
I like your twisty shapes of the seaweed.
I'd probably make the water less dark and provide more muted shadings. You often get some much play of light and colour in the underwater world and some fish have vibrant fluro complimentary colours that you could play around with.
I don't know the full story but these morph-creatures could kick off a whole book. Funny text.
