Description
This is a painting in fast-drying oils, also known as alkyds, on a small 4x5" canvas. Painted freehand. (I am a freehand drawing purist! LOL.)This is a WORK IN PROGRESS. It still needs a lot of work, like on the ears, the nose, and elsewhere. (All I do is complain!) I just wanted to update my Deviant Art page because it looks like I haven't done much, but I've actually been very busy with fangurl geekiness.
I think I'm going to start a series of Richard paintings. Oh no!
More info on this painting and some others on my new blog! [link] This is an art blog, where I am going to discuss fan art, painting, drawing, etc.

Amazing work, Zelda. So tiny yet so detailed. It looks exactly like him. Marvellous skin tones. Stunning!
Will you be doing a Guy portrait in oils too? (Alkyds, rather. They sound interesting; I must look for some here in Oz.)

Thanks, AnnieLouise! I am so glad to think you think it looks like him.
Yeah, Alkyds are cool, they are very much like oils but they dry quicker! They should be easy to find in Australia. Winsor & Newton has some good alkyds. I'm trying out several brands right now. My favorites are Winsor & Newton and the C.A.S. brand. I didn't like the Da Vinci brand, as its colors too stiffβsometimes hard to squeeze out of the tube.

Wonderful! Wow! You are so good with mixing colors and all those shades of color. Really good! It looks exactly like him! Work in progress? I cannot imagine what more you have to do with it?

Thank you Heather! I'm glad you think it looks like him! Thanks! I was concerned about that (as you can see from my comments to Giz!). It is closer to being done, but the one ear is out of whack and the other is not even painted in. And there are some other tweaks to do. I fear of overworking it, though, so I'll try to do what has to be done and stop! LOL.

Oh my God... This painting is fantastic!.. I think I forgot all English words, guh... But it's really amazing! For me drawing with oils is something exceptional, LOL! You conveyed all colours and shades so neatly, and the skin tone is great! Can't wait to see the final painting!

Thank you so much, Giz! I was hoping it looked okay. I can't always tell if it looks okay right after I paint it. So I really appreciate your comments! Thank you again!
