There is a quality to the light here in Hawai'i that is unlike any place in my experience. It is crisp, and nearly tangible. The surfaces in the water, the sand, the rocks, and the clouds dance through the light instead of reflecting it. The vitality and passion of this place is boundless. This image is a blending of 4 images taken just before and after dawn at Halona Beach Cove, located in the southeast of O'ahu. It was made famous during the kiss scene in the Burt Lancaster movie, From Here to Eternity, and is sometimes called Eternity beach. more...Copyright

I see Honu all the time when I'm surfing. Unfortunately, I don't have a housing for my camera. They are amazing subjects to photograph under the water.

To start with, long exposures and a polarizing filter. Then a lot of attention to detail in post.
