Description
No one believed you at first when you said that you found a map on a knife that fell from the sky. Sometimes you told them it came from the ground. The truest story is that you found on top of the ground. It was perfectly knapped flint-- no mistakes, and when you looked at it from the right angle, a map on it glowed. And where it led is so obvious to you, but for some reason no one dares follow.Cursed. That's what they always assumed. Their rituals, spears, and chanting wouldn't help them see what you had seen. Soon it was time to leave.
When you arrived at the place on the map, you were in a peaceful meadow between peaks in the mountains. The trees here were all short and mossy because of the elevation, and the ground was soft and wet because of the springs all throughout the meadow. It wasn't a remarkable place at first and the object on the map wasn't obvious at first until you walked a little further, spear and furs in hand.
A boulder. No. A mushroom shaped pillar of stone, oddly placed. So out of place in the meadow. All the other rocks were near the cliff's edge or surrounded by others. This one looked like it almost wanted to be where it was. There, in the bottom of the "stalk" (if it were indeed a mushroom), was a hole large enough for a stone aged person such as yourself to crawl up inside.
What do you do?

I gather my courage and begin the climb. Not before long I reach the top (hi, I'm curious on how this is going to go)

(this is a roleplay. I have some ideas for how this will go, where the knife/map came from, etc, but it's your job to just play and explore! You can ask questions all you want.)
(also, question, did you climb the mountain, or are you starting to climb inside the rock?)

Sorry, I'm not sure I can do this RP. I've thought about it a ton and I've had a few bad starts and I'm not sure I'm willing to do it again. Sorry, not your fault!

(oh...you didn't read the rules on the post did you? "Rules (I will enforce these...three strikes and you are out): Use two sentence or more responses.")
You notice that it is a smooth passageway that curves upward and to the left. In a lot of ways it's like a snail shell.

i said going down slowly and trying to pick up as many spots possible if i can get up.

As you go further into the cave, you notice that it spirals upward into the mushroom shaped boulder. Soon it opens up into a cavern. Apparently the boulder is hollow on the inside. You notice that there is a place to sit all along the wall, as well as a strange mechanism in the middle of the room. Somewhat like a mill. It is a shaft that goes from ceiling to floor and has a grind stone at it's base.
(If I don't enforce the rule, with a three strikes system, people end up just playing while I create everything. And If I stop creating and just do one word answers back it gets really boring for all involved. And that sucks.
By the way you did fine! I just knew that you hadn't read the rules and was pointing it out)

You noticed that it was constantly turning, possibly by some underground water source? or maybe by something embedded in the rock. It didn't squeak like a fire-bow does, or make any sound at all. It looks like you would only need to pour grain in the top of the stone and it would grind into dust. Or other things. On the far wall was a strange looking mask, also embedded in the stone. It was like a tiki man.

The mask doesn't seem to move or anything. Strangely, you notice that it is convex. It looks like it was designed to have your face pressed up against it and look through it's eyes.

As you put your face in it, you notice that there is something difficult to see, but as you adjust your height and kneel down, you can see a spotlight over a stone. And there is a mat filled with tools. You suddenly get the impression that if you put something on this one pedestal, which must be nearby in this space, that you will find out things that you can do with it.

(try to do more than one sentence please. You can include stuff about your character's reaction. You can honestly imagine what it would be like to be there and just write a tiny bit about that and it would go a long way. It makes it more fun for me as well )
You notice a passageway in the rock. Apparently there is a little room in the boulder as well as that main chamber. In the middle of the room is a slab of rock with sunlight shining on it from an opening in the ceiling (good thing it isn't raining)

I try to look at the passage and the rocks the middle rock looks important and possibly powerful it's white and has a golden ring design around it possibly a rock used in some sorts of ritual
"This rock must be very important" I said taking a good look at the rock
"If it's anything dangerous I will grind it" I said
(So can I Just made up stuff like that above?)

(yeah that's fine.)
You remember that in the vision you saw through the mask, you could put something on the altar and then you would know things you could make with it. You also noticed an exit that seemed to lead out of the rock and into the field.

Someone must've been here. For such stones to be arranged like this, some other cave-person had to have traveled out here and arranged them like this. But I really couldn't tell. The flint knife in my hand, my supplies strapped to my back, I stepped towards the pillar of stone, cocking my head. What an odd, umbrella shape for the rock to have, almost like a mushroom... Wait. What was that at the base?
I stepped towards it, narrowing my eyes and brushing back my matted hair, peering into the hole. It was too dark to tell... but I had come this far already. Fearless, yet curious, I began to crawl ahead.

(I can do one response tonight, thanks for joining!)
As you crawl in, the entrance opened up into a spiral passageway that corkscrewed upward into a nearly pitch-black chamber. There were strange holes in the ceiling that seemed to be dripping sparkles of wetness from above into a circular trough near your feet. As you felt around you could feel places in the walls that recessed some unknown distance, holes into the blackness. They were small enough to get a hand into, but not large enough to squeeze a whole arm down. They had an odd smell, like rotten eggs mixed with compost coming out of them. These holes were all around. After splashing a little through the trough of water (which seemed to be draining, by the sounds of it, but at a similar rate to the dripping from the rain water from above) you came to a pillar in the center. No, a statue. No, it was hard to tell what it was in the dark. Fortunately you had some caveman flint on you. You could see a gentle red glow coming from the statue, like the embers of a large fire from days before.

I crawled in the dark, before I felt the walls give way. Groaning, I forced myself up onto my feet, blundering in the darkness and shivering at the dampness of this place. My eyes weren't made for this, and the longer I stayed the more uncomfortable I felt.
But the dying embers of a flame caught my attention, moving over to it with haste and bending down, getting my carried flint out and beginning to shower the tindle in sparks, trying to set it ablaze.

ZephyrStranded In reply to WeebWriteMan [2016-09-26 01:02:58 +0000 UTC]
The hole where the sparks fell suddenly erupted in flame, evidently aided by some sort of underground source of natural gas. The holes on the walls all flared up, purring a gently blue flame. The light illuminated a large face in front of you, carved in a cylindrical shape out of stone, with an open mouth, The eyes and nose were strangely set in a concave manner, deeply inset, so that if you pressed your own face up to the eyes, your face could fit in there. And the light from the coals had been coming up from within that statue somewhere. The mouth seemed to be filled with teeth made from some kind of animal nail and bone. It wasn't clear. But there was a whole lot up in the mouth that made it look complicated and convoluted in there, like a fisherman's tangled net, rather than a smooth stone hole.
