i know, not that great of a design, it's just a test model, please excuse meWell, this morning my programmer friend called me on MSN to ask for a little model robot he could use for a couple of tests
and so i maded him a low-poly(ish) robot,
The original concept was "something that shoots lazerssss" which is to appear at the training level,
since he appeared to be busy, and i need an excuse to further slack off on my animation, i decided to take the model and color it! and see how the texture would help the model.
now upon googling color references, i discovered that my awesone teacher is on DA! Really looking forward to his works in Front mission evolved! (as his evil minion i compell you all to buy FM evolved)
also checked out craig mullins's tutorial, which makes mine look like crap. also made me want to do better next time
Anyways, i cheated on this using the magic of photoshop! looks really nice compared to what i did at first
Well, wish me luck with trying to get the hang of animation = =" haha...haha...ha.........

PS2- to those new to my gallery, no i don't draw mechs as often...

In all honesty, it reminds me more of Robotech/Macross. But it makes sense that you said so, because this design IS reminiscent of two Unseen 'Mechs (BattleMechs based on designs from other series/intellectual properties).
The two I had in mind are the Longbow ([link] ) and Rifleman ([link] ). This creation reminds me of a mix of the two, but I like it. The Longbow's legs were always a little too thin for my liking (top-heavy, too).
Both of them (the Longbow and a variant of the Rifleman, I think) are in MW4: Mercenaries, so--once again--it's not like you're wrong. lol

Kinda reminds me of the Champion mech from Battletech, which is a good thing

Reminds me of Front Mission a whole lot. Then again, FM is all about chunky square down-to-earth mechs. It tickles my fancy no doubt.

That's a pretty cool mech, reminds me of the Fafnir from mechwarrior but with missile racks on the sides. <3's missile racks!
