Description

Finally, it was the 7th day of the week and I was ready for my break, though from what I had heard it wasn't really much. We probably got more freedom by going to the mines than by staying inside since we didn't even have a proper backyard to go to. There was a training center that we could use to exercise by lifting weights and stuff like that, but in all honesty, I do not understand which kind of person you had to be to do the work that we do and then exercise once more at the end of the week. This meant that the place was mostly empty and only used when a new inmate arrived so that they could get them up to speed.

Rest just means that we didn't go to the mines and we could interact with the other residents in our cell block by sitting at the tables that were displayed for us or going to our cells to talk. Most people just sat down and played cards, dice, or something else that they managed to get in somehow, but the guards seem to not care too much about it since no one was making a fuss. Sitting in a table by herself Tesia was waving at me.

"Hey Liz come on over," she said.

I was liking the girl more and more and she was honestly too much of an angel to be here. During the last 3 days that I was working on the mines, she kept using her essence to deal with my muscle fatigue due to essence use. I am truly sure that if it wasn't for her I would have been in the punishment ward due to one of the dozens of infractions that were part of the rules that I just didn't care too much about when I got here a week ago.

" So how is your body feeling, getting used to the toll?"

"Yeah, but mostly thanks to you, you are honestly a blessing. Why doesn't every team has a water essence user?" I said without thinking too much.

"Well I guess we are a rarity amongst criminals don't you think?" she said in an offhand way.

Due to the atmosphere sometimes when I am talking with her I feel like I am talking with a friend outside and we are just chitchatting about our daily problems, but she is right. Essence users are not really that common and all of the ones here have committed crimes in one way or another, from what I remember water essence users were on the rarer side.

"Now to the next point, can you wait here for around 10 minutes or so, I need to go and speak with Rihg about something, don't move okay". She said and left towards somewhere.

While I was thinking about nothing in particular, I heard my name being called.

"Friedonia? You are the new one, right? Come follow me to the office the chief wants to have a talk with you"

Chief? Does she mean Dezra? I haven't heard from her in a week so I assume that was everything and interactions would be minimal, but this might be something related to my case. I nodded and followed the guard.
