Never thought I'd like this. Here's Cutie Honey in her latest incarnation, based on the recently (or not so recently) released OAV, Re: Cutie Honey. At first I thought the show was totally exploitative, and I still do, but its almost psychadelic style makes it stand out. And of course, I really like the jazzy bits of thereworked theme song by Koda Kumi (of Real Emotion fame). Retro, yet contemporary at the same time.Pencils and inks on paper, colours in Photoshop 5.5. I got her sword wrong, but all I had to go on was a relatively inconsistent anime and a 4-inch tall gashapon figure. Sorry!

Thats the twisted genious of Go Nagai, it IS exploitive, total eye candy for boys as it has
been since she first appeared back in '73! At the same time Honey is quite a strong character that can appeal to females, she doesn't really need her friends along(Although
they do come in handy at times.) Shes quite capable of dealing with trouble herself considering how truly powerfull she is, and she doesn't have to lean on some macho male
type to rescue or protect her. Shes really a fun character if you keep your tongue firmly
in cheek! BTW: Great artwork!

i've seen bits of the old show.. it's so laughably exploitative, it's like a trainwreck.. hard to look away... neat pic tho.
