Finally, my 2nd term at Art Center is coming to an end! The journey here has been tough but a wonderful learning experience at the same time! The summer break should be very exciting for since I have soo much planned to improve my skills and post a lot more stuff on my DA page!So this piece was done last year in Winter Break for a person who commissioned me. A simple portrait of a red headed girl!
I kept it at a rough stage because it just looks stylish and painterly that way

This certainly is one of the best portraits I've ever seen. Wonderful job on the colors, and the use of highlights and shadows. I particularly like that slightly glowing highlight in the hair. For the hair itself, I think you are certainly right saying that leaving it at this stage gives it a painterly and stylish look. There's something about it that makes it look great, maybe the combination of accuracy in the upper parts in contrast to the painterly parts in lower parts. It's a simple portrait but I love everything about it. Good job on the eyes as well, the sleepy eyes look great, as someone else has already said. They add something mysterious and erotic to it, in my opinion. The only thing that's a bit off for me is her upper lip. I don't know, to me, it goes just a bit too much into a kiss-position, because it's sort of pulled-up. If that was your intention, good job there as well, it was just something I noticed.
