I used a 0.1 Staedtler Pigment Liner. They're waterproof and make very pretty lines. But you have to be careful not to smudge it.

Wow, such a thin pen? You have mad patience. I generally outline digitally, but when I traditionally do it, I'm trying to learn how to use dip pens. The amount of times I smudge them is not funny ;A;

Smudging is an artist's worst enemy. *nods sagely* My ink smudges a lot, but that's what photoshop is for~
Outlining digitally generally takes me way longer to do than by hand. Is it easier with a tablet?

Indeed it is much easier to do with a tablet, much cleaner too >_> I don't use photoshop for outlining because SAI allows me to actually rotate the picture (and all it's layers.) Outlining is so much easier that way *sigh*
