I made two retro Zelda references here. Somehow, I doubt anybody will catch onto both of them. :<I dunno. I could've done better, but I just gave up after I made my point. View animation HERE or draw your own!
(btw, those of you drawing at KOHO are absolutely AMAZING!)

Wasn't it also true that, in the original LoZ, Link's hair, on the screen, looked pink? I mean, it certainly wasn't yellow or brown...

Not really, not on the very original. Only on ALttP. On the original TLoZ, it looked a normal brown: [link]

Since they are the ALttP versions, yes. Pink-haired Link from the common joke about Link's sprite, and black hair for Zelda based on the Japanese commercial as anime-oujo guessed.
