start with 2 positive cones, base to base, and then shrink them on the y axis. after that use a negative sphere to cut the cones into a crescent shape, one cube to cun the thing in half and another cube to cut off the blade at the point where you wanted the next segment to come through. Copy/paste the whole thing (minus the second cube), shrink it a little (all axis) and position it in such a way that it looks like its coming out of the previus segment. once again use the cube to cut off the blade where the next segment is going to be and copy/paste the previous segment (again minus the second cube) and shrink it a little, then place it in the appropriate spot. after that, just group the whole thing, copy/paste it, then reflect the copy along the axis that causes it to look like the picture (minus the connecting cylinder). then just insert the previously mentioned cylinder and move the three parts until your satisfied with the way it looks.
