Very nice, though the pred defeating a predalien is kinda backwards (alien should be kickin ass...) ... but that's my opinion... epic pic either way!

Arguably because they aren't bent on destroying our race.

umm... actually aliens aren't bent on destroying our race... they just live to breed and survive... it's preds that have the choice to kill us, they are the ones that hunt humans for trophies whereas aliens just use humans to keep their race alive...

My mistake, I ought to have mentioned the context of my arugment. The Aliens as featured in AVP, were they permitted to survive, would have been thereafter bent on the destruction of our race, considering that we humans would pose a considerable threat to them from a predatory standpoint, with our powerful weapons and such. When the hive became aware of us they would further seek our demise since -as most Alien fans should be aware- Xenomorph will not permit other creatures to inhabit the same sphere as them if they can help it.

True Signor Alex Stein, very true, your retoric was well thought out I am impressed by your knowledge of the Xenomorph anatomy. I'm unable to produce a rehtoric other than though they are overly agressive in their acts to keep their hive thriving, they are not bent on human destruction, nor will they only seek to destroy our race.
They will hunt and kill anything that would just so happen to cross their path, as in Alien 3 where a facehugger infected a dog (or an ox if you'd been fortunate enough to see the special edition of the movie.) they have one purpose, to find hosts and survive, there is no specific species target for their life-form holocaust. It's first find, first killed until none still survive, then the hive will go dormant and will eventually die out once no more hosts exist to sustain them.
(Also, since you seem to find AvP as the source of knowledge in this matter I assume you've seen AvP:R where a Predator came to Earth to put an end to the Xenomorph infestation in Gunnison, Colorado? There will almost always be a higher power to come and extinguish the infestation before it worsens, the Yautja are that higher power since the last of the Space Jockey died out. )

Excellent response. I could only retort with a repeat of my previous allusion; that the Aliens to whom I was refering to were specific to AVP. I am able to use any piece of fiction within their canon (films, comics and novels) to draw my knowledge of them from since I am a long time fan, and yes, I was able to see the Alien3 Special Edition, and am furthermore aware that xenomorph are not biased against humans, nor do they need us specifically for gestation.
I was glib to imply that they are bent on destroying our race; rather, the destruction of any race that threatens them is their desire, and in my aforementioned context, that means humanity.
Naturally, they require hosts within which to gestate, but, provided the given species poses a large enough threat, a hive will always prefer destruction of a species over its survival, even if they are reliant upon it for hosts.
A hive will not merely die out if all viable hosts on an inhabited world as destroyed since xenomorph are capable of stowing away on any derelict or manned spacecraft that floats their way (and many do), and if the need is truly dire, there are methods for them to traverse spatial distances and find new hosts.
This is why space faring races, such as Yautja, desire their destruction or containment, since one infected world could mean others. Thus, the only way for a hive to be truly purged is for every world it infects to be dealt with.
In AVP:R (a film I'm averse to talking about) a Predator is sent in to take care of the worsening situation on earth (rather messily, I might add), and this is a perfect example of the above.
However, there is no reason to asume that all such purges are successful, or that a race will even step in and do something about the problem. They may be complete failures, or even result in a bug getting on board the craft of whomever was sent in and making its way back to the homeworld to wreak havoc ('specially if it's a queen).
There is evidence to suggest that the Space Jockeys (though I prefer to call them "Pilots") were breeding xenomorph for use in war, which is what the Weyland Yutani Corp wanted to do. They are unlikely to have stepped in at any time unless threatened directly, save to aquire a few "specimens" for gestation.
Let me know what you think.

Excellent rehtoric, you really are a hardcore Alien fan, just as I am. Now, I must say that you are right about how Xenomorph prefer to annihilate the most threatening species in 'their' planet. Such as in AvP where they ignored the easy prey of humans to attack and kill the two Yautja that were the greater threat. But it is the queen that makes all tactical descisions within the hive (and all other decisions seeing as she can be as smart and even smarter than humans), so I'd believe that she'd prefer not to destory our species outright just the hostile ones, the rest would be captured as hosts for her "children".
I probably should have said that they live for an unknown amount of years while dormant, but will die out while they are active. That was my flaw in my words.
And yes the Yautja did fail at ceasing the infestation (it was rediculous to believe that they would send only one... so innacurate) but if even a simple drone would manage to get aboard the ship there would be serious trouble, for if it arrives on a virgin world it will molt into a queen after a short while.
And you were right about the Pilot's (I'll call them by what you prefer) not intervening, In "Aliens: Earth Hive" humans encountered one of them in orbit. And we discovered that It laughed at how idiotic we as humans were, and planned to wait until the infestation eliminated all life on earth or we ceased it ourselves, but whoever won they would take the prize from the victor.
