Pretty good tutorial. The only thing I'd like to point out is that shading metal has a few extra nuances. For starters, a more natural colour for metal has a little bit of a blue tint. Second, metal highlights tend to be very dependent on the material. A grayish metal will act almost like a very low quality mirror, taking a lot of its colour from the environment while something like brass will tint all the reflections and highlights golden. This doesn't tend to happen with a lot of other material types which tend to more closely reflect the light source' colour.
