he was luffy adoptive brother kinda. they aren't related by blood or by law but friends who made a blood oath to be brothers. ace winds up dying at the end of the first series of one piece, which is followed by,one piece new world, where another brother comes in sago, who eats the fruit ace ate, the flame flame fruit.

ah ok lol m not all that far in one piece yetn(still obsessing over Fairy Tail(and always will lol)) so i i havent watched much of it but i will watch more sometime sooner or later lol

its alot better than fairy tail trust. actually fun fact fairy tail copied alot off of one piece. the creator of fairy tail hasn't been sued for it cause oda was cool with it. trust me you'll really notice it when you see how similiar shanks and gildart is. thats like the biggest similarity between one piece and fairy tail. though shanks is far more a baddass than gildart
