東方霊寝像 - Spells of liberate spiritsOnce again, after the events in Reimaden, there's still sources in Gensokyo that aims to cause trubble. This time, waves of spiritual energy are traveling through the ground, causing commotion among the spirits laid to rest inside their graves. The restless spirits are gathering around the Hakurei Shrine, but are also following the trail of spiritual energy. The shrine maiden Hakurei Reimu follows the spirits to see where the spiritual energy is emerging from, and meets up with her rival, Marisa Kirisame along the way.

Yey! Another touhou "fangame"!(tough still not a game
), this "game" is going to be in a PC98 style, because I really love those sorts of games X3, they always hold so much nostalgia, even if I've never played them before ^^'. Yeah, I really love the PC98 area, it deserves more credit 
, I may actually prefer it over the modern games...But anyways, this is a new project I'll be working on from now on, but I will still continue with the Brilliant New World Story as well.
I'm really pleased with this picture! It took forever to make, especially the shrine and the shadowing, but it was definitely worth it! It gives of the exact feeling I want it too give, and I think I've done a really good job with making it look PC98ish

It'd be really neat of Spells of Liberate Spirits became an actual game someday, but Touhou PC-98 style fan-made games are virtually unheard of, sadly, and all we got is a few modernized Touhou PC-98 fan games.
I admit that to this day, I await the day to see an actual Touhou PC-98 fangame, nonetheless.

Yeah, that's a pity. I would totally play a PC98 fangame! But I guess it's a lot harder to mimic the PC98 style than the current one, especially the music

Thankfully there are a number out there that can compose in the musical style of Touhou PC-98, just like there are folks able to mimic the art style. I've seen it myself plenty, but a lot of them are in the Japanese fanbase, and many more are also obscure, be we do have folks in the west side of the world that can do so too.
At least we've got the Touhou PC-98 English patches now, I admit I've been sticking around more with the PC-98 games more ever since it's initial release, as the games are still quite marvelous, and to this day Touhou 5 Mystic Square has remained my all time favorite Touhou game.

I'm greatly impressed. This looks genuine. Really amazing work with the shrine. It really looks like a shrine and not a two-tier wedding cake like whenever I attempt drawing shrines. XD

XD, thanks ^^. But it's probably not as great as it appears, I actually cheated while making it (I used a picture of the hakurei shrine as a "sketch" while doing it...)

You're amazing for still making the shrine look symmetrical and proportionate, even when I try using a photo ref I can't get the shrine to look that shrine-y enough. XD

LLS is the only Touhou game I've 1CCed on Normal. I've gotten close to getting to Stage 6 on Hard...And I can make it to Mugetsu as Reimu...

I've only gotten to stage 5 ^^', but the game was accidentally set to lunatic the first time I played so I barely came to stage 2 XD.

Beaten HRtP on Easy (both paths, thank GOD for infinite continues...Which are handled better than the Moriya Shrine trilogy by proxy of the stages being shorter (and there being 20 short ones)). Marisa kicked my a** on SoEW on Easy. Haven't played MUCH of PoDD. Already mentioned LLS. Beat MS on Easy as Mima (with continues)...

Oh O,O, I haven't played so much on either of the games, because for whatever reasons, I can't reach the PC98 games from my server on the computer, so I have to ask my father everytime I want to play

For the Windows games, yes. They usually work, and they work beautifully...
It doesn't pull much strain at all on the computer for it to run the PC-98 emulator...

I'd recommend MoF to be the LAST game you play. Kanako is nightmarishly hard, and Marisa B makes the game too easy and boring once the novelty of bringing down bosses in five seconds wears off (and you still have to do stuff for Kanako and Suwako). IN can be first, especially if you downloaded the score.dat...

Put it this way: Lotus Land Story is the first Touhou game I 1CCed on Normal...With both characters. And you CAN focus starting in LLS, but it's more impractical than anything unless you need to slow down. I've beaten LLS without focusing...

Then I doubt I'll try SoEW, HRtP seriously anytime soon ^^', I rely completely on the focus button when I play touhou XD (I've played them once, maybe twice before but just to see how they were, but I really like PoDD)

SoEW doesn't even have focus, as I said. A lot of design choices are archaic there, like the hitbox...
I rely on focus EoSD on in bosses...
LLS is pretty fantastic...
It's a shame MoF is the worst Touhou game (in my opinion. It's not BAD, per se. The other games are just better). It's music is awesome...

I like MoF, though stage 4 is really hard XD. The one I like the least out of the ones I've tried is probably... Impossible spell card, maybe? Mostly because it's so difficult and it's hard do know which weapon to use DX

Stage 4 is hard? You haven't tried Kanako's last Spell Card on Easy, have you? That's the kind of thing you expect on Hard mode at least. It's why I needed Marisa B...

Yeah, I haven't really played a lot of MoF, and only on Normal, so I've only made it to stage 5 so far XD. Right now I'm trying to beat PoFV on hard and SA on normal(yeah, I'm not very good at touhou XD)

I'm worse at Touhou. I can't do PoFV on Easy on one life (my main is Sakuya)...
I'm also really into the characters themselves, especially in the Scarlet Devil Mansion (and Mokou)...

Yeah, the thing I like most about touhou are the characters, and the music as well. The game's are great, but that's not what makes touhou as great as it is in my opinion

Well, that's a bit of a misnomer. Basically, I can't go through the Story of PoFV on Easy without losing a duel at least once...

Aah, I've only done that maybe once =O. I always loose to either Yuuka or Shikieiki at least once when I play on easy =O
