I did something very similar to this last year. I had the same gasmask (due to being a gasmask collector) and just pulled on a black striped hoodie, put on the mask, grabbed my headphones and a baseball bat and took my younger sister out trick or treating.
it was a good day.

Nice. I guess the overall outfit could be tweaked a bit to look more 'apocalyptic'. Like blood and tears on clothes, wrist tape and maybe something you could use as melee like an iron pipe or a crowbar.
