Ok, so I noticed the relief on the canvas... And, well, my curiosity got the better of me... Saved it, turned up the contrast... Nothing... I suppose an apt analogy would be "if you can hear this whispering, you're dying" tucked into the background of Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig in the Sky". I think that would have been cool, if this had been painted on a canvas that you'd originally written "if you can read this, you're dying"... Then some schmuck (moi *ashamed look*) trying to unearth the secret message in this finds that and feels kind of stupid for a while, rethinks his philosophy on life and goes out to give the world another try... Good stuff... Hmm... I tend to ramble, don't I?
Anyways, I still love it... I guess it's just that you're admitting it. I can admire that... Very cool.

i really like this...it speaks to me w/all its simplicity, cause it portrays how i feel sometimes--wanting to block my thoughts and holding in what i want to say--very nice!

I think it is really difficult to comment on this piece. I could only talk from my point of view, obviously much influenced by my personal experience & attitude. So I guess I'll just leave the note that this piece is so great because of the many interpretations and meanings you can project into it, which all seem to fit just perfect.

I like how the white textured sort of "blobs" (for lack of a better word) are essentially holding the colours in. Is that what you were aiming for? It looks the like overlaying white is masking everything and suppressing it, making it dull and bland and normal.
I really like this. I like the words, too, because without it, it'd seem a little too blank to me. The words seem sort of stiff and whatnot, like it was hard to even allow yourself to let that much out.

i love the sense of texture in the upper portion of the image, its the sort of painting that gets me thrown out of galleries cos i want to touch it!
great contrast with the bright reds against the pale tones. theres just enough bluegrey in there to make the image cold without detracting from the emotional impact of the reds. Brava!

Have you ever carried a canvas to school or wherever while it was raining, and had the water soak through your pack and kinda stain colors from another piece of artwork onto the blank canvas?
Reminds me of that, with a stencil on top.

This is beautiful. Love the understated, muted tones. I wish the full-view image was more sharper but it's still lovely. I think I'd prefer it without the text. Neverthless the text as an image and meaning is quite powerful and striking.

i dont get what the random splodges of colour that you can hardly see mean either,
the font looks fantastic, but all it is, is a peice of paper with the words "and i try to hold it in" written on it.. what does that mean? there isn't even a discription below, i suppose it is supposed to be a work that sparks questions in your mind..i do respect the fact that there is a whole lot of different art out there, and i respect that this means something to someone, i suppose its fantastic in that right.
