Svetta Kistrun in one of the most famous and powerful heroes in the whole world, capable of punching alien demons made of nightmares right in the face and throw gods of thunder into the moon with a single gesture of her hand. But when it comes to face the fear of losing her beloved ones, she's as helpless as anyone else in this mudball. She had the perfect chance to be honest with her significant other, once and for all about the secret life she's been carrying on at her back, but couldn't force herself to make it. Wow. And whoa...
Why do I get the vibe that this is going to go like the "One More Day" storyline from the Spider-Man title about a decade ago? Not intended as a criticism...(it was a good and heartbreaking tale, especially for poor Mary Jane). But if I'm correct....does this mean that Alicia Masters is basically Mephisto? Does she have plans to alter reality and rule the world? And does she secretly want Ubergirl for herself?Β
Only the Fox and the Uberauthor know....
Or, for Season 6 BUFFY fans: it's only a matter of time for Grace/Tara to discover the "forget me" spell of Willow/Svetta (with Miss Masters' help).Β
With either situation...the truth will come out...and things will not go well for Grace.
In other news:
Zorro: I was also struck by a nice parallel between Gracie hugging Svetta and (several chapters back), Celestia/Light embracing Zorro-Monitor/Encroaching Darkness (forgive me for forgetting whatever his name was at the time) and offering hope to him. Nice sense of the timeless/dreamlike quality to the epic with repeated themes and dynamic duos.
And once more....whether conscious or not on your behalf, this scene was a nice homage to the late Ursula K. LeGuin's story, "The Lathe of Heaven"...wherein a young man whose dreams can alter reality, but always with a catch...and if only his psychiatrist wasn't such a manipulative Svengali, things may turn out better for all...(again I have my doubts about Alicia's ultimate intentions).Β

Oh nonono, sorry about the confusion! Alicia is actually one of the good guys, she's one of Uubz' besties. She did hypnotize these young ladies because she genuinely thought it would help them in long term ^^' you know,so they could spend the end of everything together

Thanks for the clarification! But as we all know from the comics realm...even the "good guys" can take a turn to the darkness every now and then. I'd hate to see what Alicia is capable of if she goes rogue/black ops. (Maybe I'll suggest this to Svetta for a future tale).Β
