Kit
As a kit, Hailbird was quiet and small. He was born five moons after his sister, and followed her around when she was an apprentice.

Apprentice
When apprenticed to Redfur, Hailbird took to his occupation like a fish to water. The only catch was he left the store a mess, which would never be the same again.

Medicine Cat
Hailbird worked side by side with Redfur for a few moons until she died from greencough. As life went on he fell in love with Quailwing, a she cat that had many flings with many toms. He was by her side as she went through tom after tom, trying to win her love. When she became a mother to another cat's kits (from another clan) he stayed by her side. Then she died and Hailbird carried on, getting Rootpaw as his apprentice. Dawnflame soon became a romantic interest for Hailbird, and the two started a good friendship. When Rootpaw 'died' he and Dawnflame became even closer, then they traveled for herbs. They got stuck in a blizzard where the two finally became mates. As they were heading back, a mother fox attacked them and Hailbird was permanently blinded. Hailbird became suicidal and one day conducted what he wanted to be a flawless death. But his old apprentice, which he thought dead, came into the picture and witnessed his death.

Dawnflame would love him always, through blindness and fear, to pride and courage. Hailbird ended up in a hugging pose (cat hugs?) with Dawnflame, covering her strong frame with his slightly larger wiry one. "Thanks- I- I really needed that." he sighed, tears drying faster than the blood. Blind eyes blinked slowly, closing as he just rest his head on top of Dawnflame's.
