Description Turf drawing I.

10” x 10” pencil on cold press water color paper

This type of drawing does not have the initial impact as Name of the Father or Occasional Angel, for me though it is very important to go back to a simpler concept once in a while.

This is part of a sires of works called “observing the insignificant” its more about natural abstraction then nature drawing although it is very carefully observed and rendered. An artist has the ability to engage someone with an image that they would normal not see and just walk by it, like this three inch piece of turf underfoot. Every day people walk by this insignificant scene , never noticing, never looking, at some point I did.

You know you're good when you can make your art look as real as a photograph, you're art never ceases to amaze me. And sometimes the most insignificant things can be beyond amazing, if you just take the time to think. Just wow.

What a wonderful idea, Armin!! We can find such beauty in the simplest of things, if only we take the time! Thank you so much for highlighting the loveliness in the small wonders of life!

This is beautiful as always. It's so true, what you said about simple things/concepts. Even though it's just a simple piece of turf, upon looking at it a bit closer, the way the grass sits is very elaborate and beautiful. It's always good to appreciate the small and simple. And thinking on it a bit further, maybe even a bit humbling. Great as always.

I really appreciate this look at the ordinary in an extraordinary way, the concept is similar to Durer's careful studies of the simple things, so nice to see!
