Description
I started this piece while I was in the middle of working on the second page of EOTS, but I decided it would be better if I waited to finish it until after the comic page was done and uploaded. I really wanted to play around with a forest environment and, more specifically, with tree-filtered lighting. I ended up struggling a bit to get the lighting right, but I think it turned out pretty well! I had a lot of fun drawing Skittles as a kitten—I tried to give her a slightly more lanky and disproportionate look that would fit a recently adopted kitten! The lady bug was challenging, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I struggled a bit with the forest background, but eventually I figured it out! The only thing I’m not super happy with is the tree bark, because I used a custom brush for it that I downloaded from the Clip Studio Assets gallery and I didn’t actually draw every mark myself. I did mess around with the colors and shape, but the texture of the tree branch is not my own work and I wouldn’t feel right saying that it is.
