I'm not sure, since I've never used Adobe 2.0...But it should be no problem, if it has all the features used in this tutorial...:3

I had a question: Why do you do the extra layer thing with the red and the deleting and all? It seems like playing with the contrast accomplishes the same thing.

akemi-shuu In reply to NightshadeTea [2006-05-25 17:02:08 +0000 UTC]
It's to get rid of the white and make it transparent, so that you can put the colors UNDER the black lineart, making your life easier for coloring. :3
There's no right or wrong in process of CG, only what's easy and what's not. For me, this is my step, so it's not the only way to do your lineart.

neato!
what kind of tracing paper do you use? When I scan mine, it doesn't come out as smooth, it looks all grainy and stuff.

For the record, I wanna say this isn't critique.
Now, I'm ignorant about editor programs, so can you tell me what program you used here and what significance layering and "masking" has to do with the line art? I'd appreciate knowledge.

akemi-shuu In reply to nakashimakazuma [2006-05-09 01:50:11 +0000 UTC]
I used Photoshop 7.
Layering is used to make life easier by having the lineart on a separate layer with no white parts, when usually there will be white parts because of the default background layer. In this way, the colors can be applied separately without affecting the lineart.
Masking is involved in the process to separate the black lineart from the white background.

Just curious, but what exactly do ctrl+a, ctrl+x, and shift+ctrl+n do separately before the final result?

akemi-shuu In reply to Hi-no-Taki [2006-05-07 05:21:18 +0000 UTC]
CTRL + X >> Cut
CTRL + A >> Select the whole picture.
SHIFT + CTRL +N >> Create new layer.

I don't get it...the first part, do I draw my final lineart on the tracing paper or...?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
akemi-shuu In reply to tooaya [2006-05-01 02:14:24 +0000 UTC]
Yup, the tracing paper is for the final lineart. The first part is just a tip, so you can do your lineart your own way if you want to.
