Description
You see many pictures of phoenixes "rising from the ashes," but very few pictures of them "going down in flames." Here's one nearing the end of its 1000 year life cycle.(Its head plumes were based on those of a secratary bird, and the elongated feathers on the wings were inspired by those of a standard-winged nightjar.)
