You knocked on the door of your best friend's house lightly. The door opened almost immediately, and you were greeted with the face of your closest amigo.

"Hey Strider."

"_______."

"Ready to help me with my math homework?"

"If by help, you mean essentially do it for you, then yeah, I guess I'm ready."

You stepped passed the boy and made your way into his bedroom.

"Jesus Christ, Dirk. You need to tidy the fuck up in here." You peered around the room. An assortment of puppets and robot parts lay strewn around the floor.

He let out a sigh. "Yeah, I know. I've been pretty busy this week, and I really haven't had time to clean it up."

"Well, good thing it's Friday. After we- I mean, I finish my math homework, we can work on your room."

Your math homework didn't take too long to figure out. In all honesty, you sucked at math. A lot. But Dirk was basically a math wizard, and he explained the concepts simply enough that you usually got it by the second explanation.

"Cool. Now to clean up all this." You gestured to the room with one hand as you shoved your math binder in your backpack with the other.

"Do we have to?" He groaned. "Listen, I just heard about this new anim-"

"Dirk. Dude. Anime after we clean your room."

Another sigh followed by a quick "Fine."

The two of you proceeded to put books away, put robot parts in one corner of the room, and put puppets in another corner.

You were picking up a few books on the floor when your eyes landed on a small notebook. It was a childish one; a sun and a few butterflies were drawn on the cover. You knelt down and opened it up, flipping through it. You stopped on about the fourth page. You gazed down at the picture and smiled. It was a picture, clearly drawn by a seven or eight year old Dirk, of the two of you. You were holding hands and grinning. A mess of blue scribbles behind you constituted as the sky.

You felt hot breath on your neck and jumped a little bit.

"Do you mind?" You asked.

"Sorry. I drew that." He said bluntly.

"I know." You laughed and looked at the picture again. He even had on his goofy anime glasses.

"You asked me to draw this." He gently took the book from your hands and stared at it for a few moments before handing it back to you.

"I did?"

"Yes. You said 'Dirk, I think we should get married.'"

You laughed, but you could feel a hot blush rising on your cheeks. So, it appears you had fallen for your best friend much earlier than you thought.

"And I said 'Okay.' and you told me that we needed something to make it official. So, I drew this."

"It's kind of shitty."

"I was eight."

"How do you remember this?"

"Doesn't a boy always remember when he first falls in love?"

Thank god your back was facing him because your face was completely flushed. You must have misheard him.

"______." Dirk said, breaking the silence.

"Hmmm?"

"I'm still falling for you. Each day." You turned around and he inched closer to you. His glasses had slid down his nose a bit, and you could see his bright orange eyes. You loved his eyes.

"I'm so in love with you that it hurts."

You would have told him that you felt exactly the same way, but he had other plans. His lips met yours quickly after he had made his confession. He pulled your hands into his and let out a content sigh when you pulled apart.

"I love you too, Strider."

He pecked you on the lips again.

"Draw me another picture."

And he did.

haha ok so dirk is probably ooc in this ( pretty sure i say this about every homestuck x reader i write but it's true ooPS)
but i really love how this one turned out so oh weLL???
