Description
hello again! here i've recreated the jovian system with 3 of the galilean moons Io (centre far-left), Ganymede (center far-right, behind jupiter) and Callisto (center left, behind jupiter) along with big old Jupiter (center) in view, from the icy surface of its moon Europa (foreground)!
i created jupiter and its moons by using real maps of their surface texures, and integrating the maps into my program's actions. europa is just a darkened image of an ice- mountain- thingy i found on google. the real trouble with this image was just finding the right way to integrate jupiter's texture into the actions without altering it! i succeeded after quite a few tries!
now, all of the distances and sizes in the image are farely scientifically accurate, including jupiter's axial tilt, with the exception of callisto, who i blew up a bit just to make it visible.
other than a few inaccurate distances, i say the image came out very good, and i would love to get your views and opinions, so comment!

Tremendous. Do you fuss with background starfield accuracy?

thank you, and not really. when i make planets now i use a very near-black background to emulate that found in actual planet photos.

I love planet and moon images especially snow covered scenes.Β Your image of Europa is great and shows the origin of the markings on its surface.Β I'm looking for an image I can use in my youtube I'm constructing for my science fiction novel Higher Mission.Β I need the surface of Europa showing the cracks through which my characters will drop through to explore the ocean beneath.Β Of course your material is copyrighted but do you have a suggestion of where I can findΒ something I'm free to use?Β I have several prints and space art books showing the wonderful paintings by Chesley Bonestell.Β I have a license to display some of them.

Nice work! You remind me my favourite album "The Galilean Satellites" by band "Rosetta".Β

That's pretty awesome, but unfortunately the snow is a bit blurry when viewed at full size. Still nice though.

yes, this is an 'old' work from me, so the techniques i used back then would be outdated by my standards today. i do plan on redoing a lot of my previous works, but not at the moment as i am quite busy with work.

glad you like it!
and yes, i do believe there is life in our solar system. it may be just simple single cellular organisms, but its still life.
