Common Name: “Fresno Nightcrawler”
Native Range: US, Poland?

Last Verified Sighting: 2017
”A Medium sized, vaguely humanoid land cryptid native to the southern US. For a long time they were known exclusively through grainy videos and photographs, with little to no clarity. This had led to a lot of speculation around the appearance and biology of the creature. However recently, my team and I have managed to successfully document the Cryptid, and create this sketch.

My studies reveal that the being is avian in nature, resembling a heavily modified specimen of Bubo scandiacus, also known as the “Snowy Owl”. Sadly, the creature left before we could study it further. We know little to nothing about the creatures behaviour and diet, although some have reported sightings of juvenile Nightcrawlers.

Almost all sightings of the creature come from parts of the southern US, however some report that it may also be native to Poland. This seems unlikely. The creature is almost definitely flightless, meaning the only way it could have gotten from the new world to the old world is either by crossing the Bering Land Bridge several thousand years ago, or by stowing away on modern boats or planes. Both options seem unlikely, so I assume that the supposed sightings in Poland are either a hoax, or of a now unidentified Cryptid separate from the Nightcrawler.”
