Look for creepy things in the canon instead of creating something that’s not there. Pokemon is riddled with creepy glitches, unsolved mysteries, and things that are just weird in general. Why are people always creating odd stories about their Pokemon getting mad and killing their trainers? Find something interesting in the canon and use that.
There are three main types of creepypasta’s. Theory (a theory about something that happened in a fandom), In Canon (a story that takes place inside of the fandom), and Real-life (almost all creepypasta’s, take place in real life).
You need evidence to back up any theory. You can't just say that you think somethings true without proper proof, it will make you look stupid and lazy.
What is scary? Ask others what they think is scary and use that to help you. Read many Creepypasta’s and make a list of what gives you chills and what you thought was pushing it over. The unknown may be scary, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to use specifics.
Pick a narration style. First person is okay (great even) as long as you aren’t the monster or killer. Second person, just no. This is not an X Reader, it does not work. Third person is great for these as long as you’re showing, not telling.
Creepy stuff does not appear in media for kids. There wouldn't be a secret episode of Yu-gi-oh where Kaiba stabs Yugi, its a kids show. Family Guy and other adult animation is fine for this, but not kid shows.
Pokemon and Zelda do not have rare hidden content that only you could find. Let me give this to you straight, these games are highly popular, and if there was any weird, hidden content in the game, if would've already been found. Pokemon fans go over the games programming multiple times with high-tec hacking devices, so there is no way that a kid could find content by accident that a master hacker couldn't find on purpose.
Avoid unnecessary, stupid violence. Violence and death is not scary; it’s just gruesome and useless. Filling your story with unnecessary violence (like so many people in Hollywood), is basically saying, “I can’t write, but I wanna look cool so I’m gonna have Fluttershy murder Applejack.” Being weirded out by a very violent story is not a type of fear, and no, your Pokemon did not die. Death is overrated.
Keep it subtle. This is horror, hearing an odd sound coming from the wall (which might make the reader question any strange sound they hear), is a lot more creepy than the wall exploding. Never go on and on about one thing, and keep the story flowing well. We don’t wanna read 100 words about how red the blood is.
Lead people in. Don’t just throw everyone in to the plot, have it start small with brief foreshadowing (i. e. “It seemed like a bad idea, but I did in anyway.”)
Remember the three types of fear. The three types of fear, shock, dread, and paranoia. All stories should have one of these elements of fear. Shock is supposed to startle (“Suddenly, the monster jumped out of the closet…”), dread is anticipating that something may happen (“I fear that he will find me soon.”), paranoia is being freaked out that something could happen (“As I heard the floorboards creek, I remembered that old ghost story).
Don’t copy and paste a plot. It’s okay to look for other fics for inspiration, but it I not okay to steal the plot of one. Writers work hard on all types of fanfictions and stories, you shouldn’t get to have it easy because you copied. It’s okay to take some common aspects from other creepypasta’s (such as Missing No., and Bad Egg) as long as you have an original plot, but don’t rip off totally original ideas (like the magnet train story). Chances are, if said story is popular, people will flame you.
Be specific. When you say, “A kid in a small town far away,” it doesn’t sound mysterious, it just sounds lazy. Give your characters and everything else a name.
People don’t act like they do in many creepypasta’s. Nobody would be scared by something the second they see it. It’s human nature to be curious when something a little strange happens. If someone’s Pokemon game told them not to go somewhere, than they should be curious and go there.
End it well. It’s okay to leave it open ended, or have the ending be a bit mysterious, just make sure it makes sense.
Never claim that it actually happened. This isn’t creepy; it just makes you seem like a pushover. If it really happened, where’s your proof? Don’t tell me you lost in a move.
Avoid the clichés. They may have been cool when they were first done, by now their lame. There’s a good list of them here: creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Cli… Read them all.
Use spell-check. I get it, we’re not all fluent English speakers, but that doesn’t mean you get away with having a million errors. Everyone should use some type of spelling and grammar check (there are a ton of free ones online, so no excuses), and read your story out loud a few times to see if it hits the ear right.
No walls of text. It makes your story impossible to read and everyone will easy lose their places. No matter what language you speak, this is unacceptable. Learn to properly space your paragraphs.
Be open to criticism. It will help you improve, and you must be able to take it before you give it.

I would like to point out that it is possible for a well-timed glitch to make it seem like one of your pokemon has taken revenge on you for releasing it. I know this because that happened to me. I got a glitch which deleted two of my pokemon right after I released a Froslass. I know now what caused the glitch (it was on a copy of Pokemon Diamond which I have had for a pretty long time, and it save corrupts a lot. Sometimes when the save corrupts, the game forgets which pokemon go where, and the ones that it thinks were in my party but were really in my box got deleted, and the ones that it thinks were in the box but were in my party got cloned.), but it was still a damn memorable glitch.
I think the reason that there are so many "pokemon takes revenge" stories is because with the high focus on friendship, and thus your pokemon's feelings, it is easy to think about how terrible a pokemon would feel if they were abandoned or otherwise mistreated. And with the powers and personalities of certain pokemon, it is easy to think that they wouldn't just take it lightly. But, yeah. It is very cliche.

There are so many glitches in Pokemon that'd make a great scary story. What about Glitch city, or the Glitch City Ghost? Or even this girl who appears to be drowning halfway through this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=86VvAY…

I would like to point out that in the original Japanese version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Marik does actually stab his father to death, as opposed to the western 4kids version where he just banishes him to the shadow realm.
The point is still valid, as are pretty much all of the others, I'm just sayin' :p

Sorry, I was just trying to point out that there aren't any violent, "Secret episodes" of kids shows. I've seen way too many creepypasta's, "Oh, I found an official episode of (insert children's show here) where so and so dies."

Some creepypastas with a lot of violence are very well written, if they have a good plot. A lot of violent creepypasta's are just a lame attempt at shock value.

To clarify, I wasn't arguing against the point, it was more trivia than anything else.
It is a pretty annoying trope a lot of people use, although I have seen some interesting variations of it in SCPs.

I just realized I made a mistake in the title (and I'm telling people to check their spelling). Also, if you really like creepypastas, try Obey The Walrus. Now that was freaky.
