No one knows how much time had passed for the Lapis. It could have been decades, centuries... a millennia...

But what was the blink of an eye for her, would be an entire planet's history and existence. The rise and fall of civilizations, wars, nations would be born and then die in the time the Lapis slumbered... until now.

A mining excavation gone awry is what had caused it. Too many explosives had been used, causing a chain reaction that spanned the length of a small island. But that was the least of both the team's, and humanity's worries, for something massive had began to float up from the depths, quickly rising towards the surface. The crew of every post, both above and below the unruly waves, had no idea how to properly describe the massive, fleshy landmass that was floating upwards towards the light.... other than 'massive'... and 'female'...

The submerged team were the lucky ones, being able to have front row seats ... the crew of the ship? Not so much. Their ship capsized the moment the object surfaced above the water. Not many would survive, but those who did witnessed the beginning of the a turning point in this world's history.

Within hours, every major nation in the world quickly had their eyes on the massive woman who had appeared from beneath the sea. Her skin, hair, and dress blue as if it were that of the water she had arose from. She was not human, as if the size wasn't enough of an indicator. Ships and aircrafts surrounded her, civilians wanting to get a glimpse of the massive sea goddess herself, before the military came in to restrict the water and airspace. Until then, all they could do was look on, and wait for her to wake.
