My OC's name is Merida. Does this team seem okay to you? ( BTW, she's sixteen and she's travelled Johto for three years and is currently travelling around Sinnoh ( three years so far ) this is her team:

Sableye ( she traded a Ralts to get this Pokèmon )

I made two Trainer OCs. The protagonist and the rival. Would it be fine if my rival's signature pokemon were to be Darkrai? Since I'm trying to make a good backstory for him to make up for it.

I really liked it ~ I'm trying to create a new OC for my story, and this helped me a lot. I'm not sure if my team is good or bad: Samurott, Absol, Emolga, Vibrava, Whimsicott and Arcanine. Should I keep Arcanine or put Growlithe and evolve it later? (my English is not very good, sorry)

That team's okay, but I would take out one or two of those cool, dark Pokémon to mix it up a little. maybe replace one of them with Sawsbuck and throw in a Psychich type, like Kadabra or Duosion?

OH MY GOSH thank you so much! I now have ideas for my new Pokemon Breeder OC, Hazelnut. (I decided to call her that.)

Here's her info:

Name: Hazelnut

Gender: Female

Team: Ralts, Wingull, Poochyena, Linoone, Skitty, and Marill.

Personality: Shy, sweet and loving. Will do anything to protect her pokemon.

Job: Daycare owner, Breeder.

Age: 18. Has only visited 2 regions, and stayed at Hoenn, the 2nd region she visited.

Story: Was born in Kanto. Her life was fun and loving. She was laughed at when she was in Pokemon High, for having all unevolved pokemon. She wanted them to stop, but they never did. When she got in a tough battle, her Zigzagoon (Now a Linoone) almost fainted and Hazelnut actually spoke up and said "HEY! DON'T HURT HIM ANYMORE!" And when the opponent stopped hurting her zigzagoon, Hazelnut knelt to the ground and picked her zigzagoon up. "I-I'm sorry.." The opponent smiled and said "It's alright, Hazel. I understand you want to be a breeder."

I'm trying to make a Pokemon OC, and I've already gotten to her Pokemon team. I've only thought of four so far, and I'm hoping to find some way to add two more, but does this sound like a balanced team to you? And do you have any recomendations on how to make the team more balanced, and who I should add next?

i think it's a pretty balanced team so far! you don't NEED six, so if you can't think of one at the moment, you could always integrate that she catches more within her story! i like how drowsee it's the typical "cutesy" kind of pokemon (though i'm biased towards "ugly" pokemon myself, i just think they're great). i think maybe a non-evolved pokemon would be a nice addition. perhaps something that could be a cutest mascot or a surprising powerhouse? it's good to add pokemon with unusual types too, since ghost, psychic and water and pretty common. perhaps you could add a dwebble, a joltik, a phanphy, or sentret would be a couple suggestions i would. you also have 3/4 pokemon that walk on 2 legs, so perhaps a bird-like pokemon or a pokemon with a strange form? i also suggest a pokemon that is "in between" stages. it has a pre-evo but it can also further evolve too. suggestions would be like flaafy, swadloon, krokorok or staravia! those are just some suggestions, feel free to think of things similar or whatever matches your oc best!

What do you think of a sort of 14-year-old casual trainer/hardcore tourist who travels across the land in a treehouse on the back of a giant, five-hundred-year-old Torterra, nicknamed Terry (his full name is really long and fancy and hard to remember and pronounce) that has been in his family for generations, and that occupies a giant, bowling-ball-sized antique Pokeball that isn't compatible with the PC storage system, so that the Torterra doesn't count as part of his six Pokemon team (since the house probably would get blown up if he tried to battle, anyways).

I don't know if this really conflicts with what you had in mind for your no-legendaries rule, but I was thinking that there could be a Jirachi who has followed around since he was born under a legendary comet or something cheesy like that. Unfortunately for this trainer (who I think I'll call Fred), Jirachi isn't there to help him in times of need, or anything like that. Rather, Jirachi pretty much just sees Fred as his own personal toy, and loves to use his reality-warping powers to cause all sorts of weirdness for him. Fred, for his part, has never actually seen the Jirachi (nor has Jirachi caused anything outright impossible to happen, merely extremely improbable things), but he has picked up an almost bored, seen-it-a-hundred-times attitude towards even the most outrageous of occurrences, as well as a subconscious tendency to be very careful when using the phrase "I wish." On the bright side, he has also survived near-certain death about half a dozen times, since Jirachi would get bored without him.

Also, does this look like a fairly balanced team?

Sounds interesting, though the bowling-ball-sized pokeball made my head explode He's a good oc, with a well balanced team. The jirachi idea is pretty creative, too. He's a well developed character with high hopes

I don't see why she couldn't see a few regions. As long as she hasn't thoroughly explored them and only, say, visits a few towns or the coastal towns or something along those lines. It doesn't sound so bad to me!

I love pokemon ever since i was little and well when 3rd gen introduced contest i fell in love with it like May, but at the same time i still love battling for gym badges and entering battleing tornaments as well...so i was wondering if it's possible for an OC to have the occupation for both a pokemon coordinator and trainer like Nando in the anime???

Surely it's possible! But they'll probably be better at one than the other. Contests my be a hobby for them or maybe they battle but only for fun. It's unlikely that that'd be really really good at both, you know? You'll also have to decide which are battling Pokemon and which are for contests or get a team that does both pretty well. It can be a really great character! There's just a little more to consider when you're trying to make a story and give them a good, balanced team.

Hey I am planning to make my OC the former commander of some generations crime syndicate who defected because seeing her superior's brutality and mental abuse of his son was too much for her. As a result would I fill my team with psudo-legends such as Hydreigon and Blaziken? So would I design her with two outfits one illustrating her former commander life and another in her reformed personality. I am thinking that her age would be around age 17 to 19 because N was like 18-20 when he became the king of Team Plasma so she would encounter at least 4 if not all of the regions in the game.

lemme lay out why this is a bad idea

• this is a pokemon setting. this is not mirai nikki. this is even not durarara or fullmetal alchemist. this is pokemon. a yandere in this setting would be completely and totally unfound, especially as a "hero". while black and white had an edgier side to it, it does not give you reason to make a protag like this. no. stop

• speaking of "using the yandere type", that's a giant trope. as is dual personas. this is pokemon, i reiterate. this is not a horror manga. even bringing up the case of abuse is a touchy subject within pokemon, for people and humans. it shouldnt be used to fuel a very shallow character. it's a serious issue and this is not the setting to address it. especially for an original character.

• your character is not a commander. the commanders are already written in CANON. having her "leave" team plasma would be fine if she was a grunt. the important characters of team plasma have been laid out. it would be just foolish to insert yourself (or your character) in this spot. that's GOD-MODING

• creating an oc just to date a character, especially a character like n, is pretty ridiculous and harmful in itself. she needs more depth than who she dates, besides whatever cliche, tragic backstory she may have to make her "totemo yandere"

• speaking of which, being dark and brooding does not automatically make your character good. in fact, "weak" characters have more depth than some uber-skillful yandere commander trainer. she should fail. she should be weaker than ghetsis and the seven sages and the elite 4 and the actual protagonists. she should have to WORK towards her power

• having her use EXCLUSIVELY pseudo-legendaries is the epitome of god-modding. not even IRIS ON HARDMODE uses exclusively pseudo-legendaries. GHETSIS uses ONE (hydreigon). you're SUPPOSED to have weaker pokemon. she is not supposed to be a commander, she is supposed to be a GRUNT. to have such a powerful team would be ridiculous, even in as a normal trainer. she should have 1 big, powerful, main pokemon (like ash's signature pikachu) and then background pokemon surrounding them. she should have stage 1 or 2 pokemon. she doesnt need ALL powerful and cool pokemon. give her something dumb or goofy or weak

• if she is traveling the world (as you've said so before in previous posts), how does she join team plasma? that is an awful lot of travelling and such on top of apparently rising to the highest rungs of the team plasma command

• the name sounds awful, i'm sorry

• this is pokemon. don't make the canon world fit your character. make your oc fit into the canon world. don't make her super powerful. don't make her deep and brooding and abused but still have her be lovable. it will not make n love her more. if anything, it would make n pity her. don't give her ridiculous pokemon and make her commander of an established organization. these are all ridiculous and hard to believe and are not very creative. your oc is pretty much a carbon copy of every sugoi pokemon oc who is trying to date n or gary or whoever

• tips: make her have a goal. make her story less tragic or if you want to make her tragic, have it deeply effect her in a negative way. don't rely on tropes like "abuse" and "dual persona" and "yandere". make her actually have deep connections to whoever hurt her. make her have been bullied. make her have been told that she isn't good enough, as a trainer or a person. but don't make her snap. make it strengthen and weaken her at the same time. make it a driving force of why she wants to get stronger. make it a crippling fear of hers. make it a reason why she looks up to n for being so brave and independent. make her fail and make her think she isn't good enough. give her weak pokemon to prove that its not just about power but effort and willpower. give her strange pokemon and not just "cool" or "kawaii" types like hydregion and blaziken and umbreon. give her a joltik or a tropius or a clamperl or a jellicent. give her a main pokemon, and have it be her strongest. don't make her entire existence about n and team plasma. if anything, get rid of team plasma or make her one of the followers that converted to n's teachings instead of ghetsis. power her down. tone her down. make her different but not extreme. try again
