Edit 12/10/2014: deviantArt has made a lot of changes since this tutorial was first made so I finally went back and corrected it. You do NOT have to be a premium member to have stamps. Just follow the steps in the tutorial.
I'm not sure if someone has made this before. They probably have and have done a better job.
BUT I get this question quite often so I've made this to link people to when they ask. I feel like I can show better than tell.

In my opinion since stamps link directly to the deviation on the artists page I don't think it is. But every stamp maker is different! Check the description on the stamp to see if they would like credit.

I do not have a tutorial for making stamps, only using them. You can find plenty of tutorials for making them by searching here on DeviantArt:Ā www.deviantart.com/browse/all/ā¦

It is now located above the "add to favorites button". You can also find the thumb code by looking in the "Details" Section on the right hand side of the page at the bottom.

i know how to use the stamps, and they were working just fine but for some reason whenever i try to paste the thumb code on my profile it says the name of the art/stamp and creator instead of showing the actual stamp? is there a limit to the number of stamps in your profile or something because it wont work for me

I'm not sure you may have reached a character limit. Try pasting it in another part of your page and see if it works.

It's up the the creator of the stamp.
I don't mind being used outside of dA but others may have different policies.
